Celebrity Spaces is a new feature at this year’s Autumn Home Show. “Having nationally recognized designers working on the show is a new concept for Winnipeg and Manitoba,” says Ron Mark, the president of Ready Event Marketing, the show’s organizer.
The two featured designers are Glen Peloso and Marc Atiyolil. As Editor in Chief of Canadian Home Trends – Canada’s Home Décor & Lifestyle Magazine, Atiyolil has had the opportunity to interview celebrity designers and see first hand many beautifully designed Canadian spaces and showcase them in the highly respected home décor and lifestyle publication. As a designer, he appreciates traditional design, although his tastes run more towards modern and contemporary trends. That allows him to blend, mix and match, or create a complete home makeover that far exceeds the homeowner’s expectations.
Toronto-based Peloso is best known as the host of both “Restaurant Makeover” and “Take This House and Sell It”. During his career Glen has worked on over 300 design contracts in both commercial and residential design in countries such as England, France, Italy and the USA.
Prior to opening his own firm, Glen Peloso Interiors., in 2005, he served as Senior Designer and Vice-president of a successful corporate housing company and was a partner in another design firm. With a philosophy of “form following function” he strives to be on the cutting edge with restaurants, homes, offices and retail spaces, but never losing sight of the needs and desires of his clients. (Peloso will not be appearing at the show in person.)
Spaces were designed in collaboration with the talented Michelle Zelickson of Winnipeg based Interior Illusions. Interior Illusions will be supplying all furniture and accessories for the two spaces. – Myron Love
